Pastor Dave Aucoin (nickname P.D.) received his call to ministry while he and his wife Cindy attended Brockton Assembly of God from 1980-1991. His time there was full of many church ministries: Board Member, Adult Bible Studies, Home Groups, Prison Ministry and Missions Director. As the Missions Director he began an outreach with the men of Brockton AG to the prison complex in Bridgewater, MA. During this same time, the church’s involvement in Missions grew. They added overseas trips for construction, medical assistance, and evangelism; as well
as financial support.
During this season of growth, God was preparing him - and in 1985 he and Cindy joined the staff as Youth Pastors. As the Youth Ministry grew and expanded, many young lives were changed by the power of God. This growth spilled over as Bible Clubs were started in 3 area high schools, and a number of students ended up going to Bible College and serve in ministry today.
Dave left Brockton to attend Northpoint Bible College (formerly Zion Bible College) then located in Barrington, RI where he received his undergrad degree and was valedictorian of his class. While a student there, he attended Abundant Life. Together with Cindy, they worked with teens and saw many students come to Christ. Those students also began a Bible Club at East Providence High that continues to this day!
After graduation, the Aucoin’s moved to Connecticut where they pastored New Beginnings Assembly of God in Watertown. When they arrived, it was a small struggling church that had lost their property and was ready to close. Over the course of the six years they were there, they saw the church grow and become stable again. Following their tenure there, they joined the staff of First Assembly of God in Torrington, CT where they remained for 3 ½ years. During this short, but booming season, Dave expanded the Christian Education ministries and revived Royal Rangers and MIssionettes.
When the senior pastorate here at Abundant Life became vacant in 2007, they felt a tugging from the Lord to speak to the District Superintendent. As God would have it, he was also thinking about them to fill the opening. Circumstances quickly began to fall into place and in August of 2007, they were invited by the congregation of Abundant Life to become their pastors. Pastor Dave says, “In many ways, coming to ALAOG was like coming back home.”
Pastor Dave is on the board of the Ministry Training Network, a discipleship training ministry supported by many of the evangelical churches in Greater RI. He teaches Old Testament Survey. He is also an Adjunct Professor for Northpoint Bible College (formerly Zion Bible College) in Haverhill, MA. He earned his MA in Biblical Studies from Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA).
Pastor Dave's wife Cindy comes along side her husband here at Abundant Life; assisting him in many areas of church ministry. She is the head of Women’s Ministry (Mercy In Motion) encouraging and believing in women of all ages to reach their full potential. Her leadership skills, creativity and gifts focuses’ on event theme planning, decoration and organization, along with facilitating a women’s bible studies on different occasions, setting up schedules with meal plans for the sick, leading and singing on the worship team. She is also gifted at coming along side in support and encouragement using her creativity and people skills to help assist departments in their ministries. Cindy believes you can never out give God with your time, talent or money – many blessings are in store for those that allow God to use them in service for HIM!
Pastor Bob Lavallee (nickname P.B.) joined our staff in 2019 bringing his wonderful family and years of experience with him. Rev.
